How SmartFutures Came to Life

What happens when a network of curious minds, a decentralized dream, and a shared belief in collaboration meet? You get SmartFutures.

It all started with Disruptive Elements — a collective of innovation-driven doers led by Jürgen. Among them was Robin, a Web3 enthusiast who saw the potential of connecting this dynamic group with the Cardano ecosystem. Through that spark, an idea was born: why not bring Cardano, UNDP, and real-world innovators together to inspire change?

A proposal was submitted to Cardano Catalyst, and to our great joy — it won.

From there, the team grew. Alex from the Cardano Foundation, Teo and Ievgen from the UNDP, and Jan from Relaventive joined forces. Across time zones, tools, and backgrounds, we met in countless Google Meets, each conversation layered with ideas, energy, and a shared mission.

The result is SmartFutures — more than just an event. It’s a living example that Cardano Catalyst works. That decentralization isn’t just a concept, but a practice. And that powerful collaboration can happen anywhere when people share values and vision.
